This is an individual quilt stitched from hand printed and dyed fabric in my Hampshire studio.
Each quilt is pieced together and hand stitched using seasonable and sustainable colour made from plants, trees and flowers grown or foraged by me. My practice is formed by my environmental values, aligned with the slow growing and making reflecting my desire for a slower, less consumerist world.
This quilt is dyed with coreopsis, weld, woad and bay and knotted with British wool dyed with woad.
The insert for all quilts is a vintage wool blanket boiled for stability and warmth.
Quilts can be displayed as a wallhanging, as shown, or used as a throw however washing is to be avoided but can be done with care by hand washing in tepid water with mild soap.
